Directed by Sung Jin Ahn, Starring Michael Chiklis(Deathstroke), Sasha Alexander(Adeline), Giffin Puatu(Joseph Wilson), Deathstroke: Knights and Dragons is the latest DC Animation to get the movie length treatment where Deathstroke gets a bloody but melodramatic makeover from Warner Bros. Animation. It was originally conceived as an animated series for the CW Seed digital network. One episode was released after which the shorts are edited into a feature film.

The Plot follows Slade Wilson who is a secret government super-assassin, travels the world on dangerous missions. When his young son suffers at the hands of one of his enemies, his already fractured marriage disintegrates and he is forced to distance himself from his family. After 10 Years, a new foe ascends the throne of H.I.V.E that forces Slade to revisit the sins of his past and make amends for the future.

Deathstroke: Knights and Dragons serves as an effective origin for Slade and also sets a compelling family for him to take care of. Though it has superb action scenes, but a fairly compelling storyline meddled by terrible dialogue is what lets the audience down. The first half of the movie is amazing. The disapointment begins in the second half, but a stratospheric climax adds a shot of adrenaline to end on a high note. It plays familiar beats and at times is frustrating to watch but there is enough here to keep Slade Wilson fans happy at least. Also, DC needs to get past the old animation style and should improve it with the upcoming DC Animated Projects.

Deathstroke: Knights and Dragons is now available in Digital and Blu Ray.
