Directed by Chris Sanders, in his live-action directorial debut with a screenplay from Michael Green, the film stars Harrison Ford (John Thornton), Dan Stevens (Hal), Omar Sy (Perrault), Karen Gillan (Mercedes), Bradley Whitford (Judge Miller), and Colin Woodell (Charles). The film is based on Jack London's 1903 novel of the same name.

Set during the 1890s Klondike Gold Rush, the film follows a dog named Buck as he is stolen from his home in California and sent to the Yukon, where he befriends an old outdoorsman and begins a life-altering adventure.

A beautiful film in aesthetic, setting, staging and sentiment. Magnificent images of largess counter an ultimately intimate story. It is exactly the kind of big-hearted entertainment that was once Disney's stock in trade. If you can see past the somewhat distracting CGI animals, you may find yourself caught up in its youthful energy. Harrison Ford lends star power and dignity to CGI dog adventure story based on the classic Jack London novel. Buck is so appealing and his story is so entertaining that the movie won me over with a force that has left me astounded. The film has gorgeous locations and cinematography, filled with plenty of family adventure, heart and soul. It is a perfect film for dog lovers and a heartwarming adventure in its own right, The Call of the Wild features a wonderfully understated performance from Harrison Ford, and is a ride definitely worth taking. It's easy to watch and kids of all ages will love it. Get that tissue ready for you will truly be in a puddle of tears rooting for Buck in The Call of The Wild. Man's best friend is giving love and hope to a scruffy Harrison Ford and I was there for all of it. It is a thrilling, sometimes intense adventure that teaches resilience.

The Call of The Wild is now available on Digital and Blu-ray.
